Worshiping Together...

The Full Assurance of Faith                                                                                               (ESV)
19Therefore, brothers,c since we have confidence to enter the holy places by the blood of Jesus, 20by the new and living way that he opened for us through the curtain, that is, through his flesh, 21and since we have a great priest over the house of God, 22let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. 23Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful. 24And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, 25not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.

We are commanded in Hebrews not to forsake or neglect meeting together.  There is good reason for this, if you start pulling away from corporate worship you may then become an island unto yourself. You no longer are accountable to others and others are not accountable to you.  You no longer bless or encourage others who need you.  God gives us like-minded people so that we can help one another in our Christian faith and our daily walk. Faith is given by the Holy Spirit and He cultivates in our very being the desire to be with others and bear the good fruits of spreading the Word of God to all we encounter.  It is very hard to do this if we sequester ourselves, corporate meetings give us the refill we need, the weekly boost to keep going.  Being daily in the Word is very important but the recharge we receive by our being in the church, hearing the Gospel spoken to us and having fellowship with other sinner/saints ("The saints are sinners, too, but they are forgiven and absolved."- Martin Luther)
Keeping a relationship with the church is the grounding we all need to have a healthy spiritual life.

I therefore plead with you, if you do not have a church home please find one, and if you do attend regularly so your roots grow deep and you have a firm foundation.
Praying God's blessings on you and yours,
